San Antonio, TX – The San Antonio Parks Foundation is excited to host the Celebrate SA New Year’s Eve Party and Countdown in Downtown San Antonio, proudly sponsored by Ready to Work! Join us on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 6 PM to Midnight for a memorable evening filled with live music, delicious food, carnival games, and festive fun—all with free admission!

This year’s celebration will also serve as a heartfelt tribute to Mayor Ron Nirenberg, as he completes his fourth and final term next May.  Nirenberg is one of the longest serving mayors of San Antonio and the longest since Mayor Henry Cisneros, who left office in 1989 and ultimately served as US Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 1993-1997.  Mayor Nirenberg will have an opportunity to lead the countdown and share a few words with the community he has passionately served.

Market St will kick off the festivities with DJ Celebr8 performing on the main stage from 6 PM to 9 PM, spinning the latest hits and keeping the energy high. Live music and dancing begins at 9 PM with Melange by Intensity Entertainment. Back by popular demand, Melange  showcases great cover vocals and music, dancing and exciting costume changes throughout their performance, adding a vibrant visual element that will keep the crowd engaged.

In addition to the festivities on Market Street, the event will activate Civic Park at Hemisfair and La Villita down to the San Antonio River Walk. Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities and performances throughout these beautiful venues, enhancing the community spirit of the event.

Historic La Villita will feature a life-sized Winter Wonderland Village built by St. Philips College Allied Construction Trades/Construction Technology.  There will be a display of creations from the Gingerbread Student Bake-Off Competition featuring students in St. Philip’s Culinary Arts/Baking & Pastry Arts program.  Chef Johnny Hernandez of Grupo La Gloria says he could not be prouder of the student bakers.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair with a fun-filled evening for the whole family! Join us from 6-8 PM for a special Kids Countdown at 8 PM, where the little ones can enjoy crafts, music, games, and exciting activities. The night will also feature a family-friendly carnival presented by AC Amusements at the South Alamo Lot behind the Magik Theatre, offering even more entertainment and joy for everyone. It’s the perfect way to ring in the New Year with your kiddos!

Hemisfair and Sound Cream Airstream come together again to ring in the New Year with Celebrate in Civic! The final dance party of 2024 in Civic Park at Hemisfair will be from 6 PM to 12 AM. Guests will enjoy front-row access to a spacious area on the lawn for a lively dance party featuring a New Year’s Eve performance by Cumbiatron, along with photo-booth-fun to capture last memories of 2024 with Dru Photo. The celebration will culminate with a prime view of the spectacular fireworks display at midnight. This community-focused event encourages a suggested donation of $25 per person, offering a chance to support Hemisfair while enjoying a night of music, entertainment, and connection. Donations of $150 or more will include a Hemisfair picnic blanket and four drink tickets while supplies last.

As midnight approaches, everyone will be treated to a spectacular 14 minute fireworks display, sponsored by Gamez Law, lighting up the San Antonio skyline in celebration of the New Year. Guests can also indulge in a variety of delicious offerings from local food vendors.
