The Chaparral Music & Heritage Festival, in the heart of downtown San Antonio, celebrates the music, flavors, and history of South and Central Texas! Texas country and Americana music fans revel in all things Texas at Civic Park at Hemisfair, the festival’s home footprint.
The festival will kick off free Loteria games with prizes from 12-2 pm led by Que Sabor! with visits by Fiesta Royalty and Lieutenant General John R. Evans with music by the USAF Band of the West Rock Band.
The Golden Knights, an expert team critical to our U.S. Army’s success, will complete a precision parachute jump into Civic Park at approximately 2:30 PM. What started in 1959 as a small competition team of skydivers is now an international icon. The Golden Knights have earned over 3,800 medals in competition while also achieving 348 world records in the process. We encourage you to bring the family out for this free opportunity to see our historic Golden Knights in Military City USA.
The John T. Floore Country Store Main Stage will feature top tier boot scootin talent starting at 5 PM. Our headliner is Silverada (formerly Mike and the Moonpies), supported by Grady Spencer & the Work and Rosie Flores and the Talismen!
Grab some friends and complete your party with fun Fiesta barbecue and tacos complemented by an icy margarita, cold Michelob Ultra, Tito’s Vodka and much more!
Produced by the San Antonio Parks Foundation, Chaparral Music & Heritage Festival is deeply rooted in the belief systems and practices to protect, grow, nourish, and perpetuate an ecosystem of learning, camaraderie, celebration, and legacy that public parks provide to citizens and visitors as places to create and perpetuate their own storytelling for the now and future of San Antonio.
The festival helps the San Antonio Parks Foundation grow its storytelling and educational arm through interactive children’s activities, displays, and activations celebrating environmental conservation and resilience, outdoor recreation, and sustainable agriculture practices of south and central Texas.
Check out our partner hotels – Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, Plaza San Antonio Hotel & Spa, and the Grand Hyatt for Fiesta specials including a welcome package from Chaparral.
While General Admission to the festival is free and open to the public, a limited number of VIP Culinary Experience tickets are available to 21+ patrons who wish to elevate their Chaparral experience. The menu features traditional Texas cuisines reimagined using resilient and sustainable agriculture practices and local food producers. In addition to down home BBQ, VIP guests will enjoy complimentary beverages, private tables and seating for the duration of the evening, 5 PM to 11 PM. VIP Tickets can be purchased at $100 per person or $1,200 for a sponsored table of 8.
